Profile Pages
As a user I want to be able to:
- [x] Delete my account
- [x] Change my password
- [ ] Customize basic profile information
- [ ] See profiles for users, (standalone and by hovering over usernames), etc.
- [ ] Add an avatar next to names wherever they appear.
Closing in favor of: hypothesis/h#632 and hypothesis/h#1275
Reopening this. One aspect of the above is actually a "profile page" i.e. a way to see a person's profile. This might be paired with their public stream (ala twitter). But there's currently no open issue for it. Might as well reuse this one?
As a user I want to be able to:
- [ ] See my profile page
- [ ] See another user's profile page-- with some minimal information about them and recent activity.
Great comment from Hypothes.is – the launch of October 2014:
'At this moment user profiles are very poorly solved. Using a specific user name to login, instead of email address, is less convenient and forces users to remember yet another, normally useless, bit of information. Today, the user profile does not offer anything interesting. It does not contain biographical information, avatar, contact, or anything else. This is a huge disadvantage for academics, as hypothes.is offers no quick way of determining the competence of the person they are talking to. Allowing users to submit more information about themselves.'
It does not contain biographical information, avatar, contact, or anything else.
Let's just keep our "nym policy" clearly in view as we build this stuff.
