PDF annotation jumps to previous identical word

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to https://via.hypothes.is/https://ia601207.us.archive.org/6/items/bub_gb_GADajiNWFlkC/bub_gb_GADajiNWFlkC.pdf
  2. Highlight a word that has occurred previously in the OCR text of the PDF. (E.g., "copia" on page 12, which also occurs on page 9). Click "Annotate"
  3. Post annotation.

Expected behaviour

The word should remain highlighted and be linked to an annotation once it is posted.

Actual behaviour

The selection disappears as soon as you press "Annotate," and is instead linked to an earlier occurrence of the word when you post the annotation. See the annotation here where "copia" is linked to page 9 instead of page 12 https://via.hypothes.is/https://ia601207.us.archive.org/6/items/bub_gb_GADajiNWFlkC/bub_gb_GADajiNWFlkC.pdf#annotations:QpW4rDEyEeqmwjfetsvHSA.

Browser/system information

FF 71.0. 64-bit on Mac 10.14.6.

So far I've only experienced this with this particular PDF. Possibly related: #3530
