Add in-app instructions for image annotations
When the user activates the rectangle selection button a dialog should appear at the top of the sidebar that says Click and drag on the document to create a rectangular selection:
Question: do we want a similar dialog for pin annotations? And if so, what should the wording be? Maybe: Click on the document to drop a pin
I'm honestly not a huge fan of this. My instinct is that our selection tools are similar enough to other applications that users will not need an explanation to tell them how to use it, and I think I'd find the large black bar appearing at the top of the sidebar a bit distracting.
While the tool is active, we give the user a cue when the cursor is over the document in the form of a cross-hair cursor. We could perhaps make that more specific, as it is also used by the pin annotation tool.
I'm deferring this for the moment, until we've got stronger feedback that it is necessary.
