Is this only happening in the Classic Editor or in mobile Gutenberg too?

I'm able to reproduce on my Android 8.0 Galaxy S7edge. Here's a video of the lag, which is not super bad (at least on my device) but still easily noticeable...

Thanks for reporting @hoverduck , I think that one is actually a different issue. Opened up https://github.com/wordpress-mobile/AztecEditor-Android/issues/700 to track it.

Looks like the badge is not displaying in various cases of the Gallery Block or a Media&Text block so, reopening this ticket to track.

I kinda like that idea @AmandaRiu ! Long-tap to enter "selection mode" and perhaps have some button or other quick way to select-all without having to scroll and tap on...
