[Bug] Opening Header menu causes elements to offset

Open travisk-codes opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

Describe the bug When the Header avatar menu is opened, the scrollbar disappears, causing certain page elements to jump slightly (Header search bar, create post Floating Action Button, probably other Header buttons underneath menu). This is only an issue when the browser is displaying a scrollbar (for me: in Firefox, not in Chrome)

To Reproduce

  1. Use browser with visible scrollbars?
  2. Navigate to page with scrollbar
  3. Open Header menu
  4. Witness elements jumping

Expected behavior Elements should stay where they are when a menu is opened, probably.

App Information (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
  • Browser Firefox Developer Version 75.0b12

Is this behavior present on other OSes? Chrome on Ubuntu doesn't show a scrollbar, which I'm able to copy in Firefox, but I feel like this isn't the best solution. I mean it's a solution, but maybe Chrome not having a scrollbar should be considered a bug as well. I dunno.

This might be from when I intentionally hid the scrollbar so that the desktop app didn't look off with a scrollbar the height of the entire window, including the top bar. Seems like there's some conflicting CSS going on.
