`system:` predicates on thumbnails
The ability to have ratings show up on thumbnails similar to how tags can be set to sow up on thumbnails.

Given the discussion in the thread and on Discord I'm changing this issue to be a generic issue for being able to configure thumbnail display to include system: predicate information. This would include ratings like OP desires but also everything else the predicates includes such as duplicates information, presence of ICC profiles, dimensions, and so on.
Thumbnails need an overhaul in terms of data display just in general. Not all users find all icons to be helpful, and yet others want more icons for other data.
It might even be worthwhile for thumbnail display to be configurable on a per-page basis for setting up different workflows.
there have been talk about more icons and even image upload as an icon. will make an issue out of this to not forget it!
This would be nice. I've been wanting this feature.
Since there can be multiple sources of ratings, maybe the tag summary could specify the service to use.
Something like:
system:rating:name_of_service
So a resulting entry could look like:
system:rating:my_personal_tag_service | prefix: "" | separator: ","
Maybe even expose the other 'system:' predicates the same way. That would open the door for showing whatever you desire on the thumbnails like file size, import date, length, etc.
Not to mention 'thumbnail bottom-right' and 'media viewer top' would benefit since they use the same edit menu.
I was actually thinking about this. Perhaps there can be an option to change the outline color of thumbnails based on rating, with either a single rating being used for this color process, or an ordered list of ratings in which the colors for higher priority ratings would override the color of lower priority ratings
Really want to be able to show the length of the video on the thumbnail, the issue seems to be similar to this Or make the metadata in a simple format and display it on the thumbnail For example, display the last modification year and modification month on the thumbnail of the subscription-based reward works like 2020-09
Hey just dropping in because it came up on discord again. I like this idea a lot, and if you have seen me talk about a 'Metadata Conditional' object, that's my big plan here. I'll have an object than can do simple search logic on single files, and then I'll tie that into all sorts of selection and display options. You'll be able to say 'thumbs with x y z properties should get a blah icon in the top-right corner', slowly replacing the various other places I do this sort of stuff. I'll then extend that system with more algebra, hooks, and outputs, and we'll only be working on one system, rather than fifteen different hardcoded options systems.
Not sure when this will happen!
Awesome, I just happened to see this; I've been holding out on v493 waiting for the items I really want to be added, like this one. I have a lot of changelogs to read and ahk scripts to update once I do update 😰
