Request option to not dim-out top and bottom portions and make them fully transparent.
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. In windowed mode or full screen mode during time seek. Top portion (pull down menu icon and file name) and bottom portion (seek-bar and controls) are dim-out. This is hurting viewing experience.
Describe the solution you'd like Request optional settings to not dim-out top and bottom portions.
Describe alternatives you've considered Another option is to change the default to fully transparent throughout the entire screen/window. No more dim-out at top and bottom portions.

I'm not sure if I understand your issue correctly. In both default and fullscreen mode, the top and bottom controls fade and become fully transparent. Can you provide a screenshot of the issue you are facing?

They do fade and become fully transparent. But it'd be best if top and bottom controls always remains transparent, even in windowed mode or in full screen mode during time-seek. I've amended my request accordingly.
Time seek using arrow keys or controller joysticks doesn't show the controls again. Neither is transitioning between default and fullscreen mode. Only cursor movement (moving your mouse), tab navigation, and page navigation "unhide" the controls. Can you describe the behavior you are observing?

hm ... if the solution is only use arrow keys to time-seek. I guess that's a viable solution to the problem ...
But in practice I always use mouse and seek-bar to time-seek instead of arrow keys. I never done any poll so don't know which way is more common ... I can tell you mouse and seek-bar comes more nature to me thought.
I'm still a bit confused. If the controls remains transparent, how do you interact with the seek-bar?

Oh the controls icons and seek-bar needs to remind visible in white color of course.
I just mean I don't think you need to dim-out the top and bottom background with shading color to make the white seek-bar and controls visible.
I can still see the white control and seek-bar perfectly well if the background remains fully transparent with the original video color. Same reason you don't need to dim-out the video background to show white color subtitles.

Sorry but we kinda need otherwise, in certain conditions, you wouldn't be able to see the controls. In fact, I think, currently it's a bit light.

See above, maybe for 90% of the time but we need to ensure that overlay controls remain visible in all conditions.

If you look closer you can see the same, although a bit smaller. The primary controls also have a background with opacity.
Hm ... the full white screen situations you refer to is kind of rare. I'll say over 95% of the time the overlay controls is visible without dimming the display.
How about at least consider to make it an option not to dim out? Or reduce the dim out area?
I uses the time slider all the time. Which means practically 1/4 of the screen has dimmed out most of the time. Which is less than ideal.
I think it makes sense to make the gradient intensity customizable. We can put this option in a new settings section called Appearance or Customization.
