When you copy some content to another post, the images are shared. Hence, if you delete the original post, they are gone from the other one

What steps will reproduce the problem?

• create a post A with images
• save it
• copy all the content (text + images)
• paste into a new post B
• save it
• delete post A

What is the expected result?

-> content from Post B remains the same

-> images are gone from post B

That is not (only) a problem of deleting the original. When you copy a post with picture that way, only yourself can see the picture (because of caching I think) in the copied post. Users, who never opened the original, can't see the picture.

Here the author's view. On the right one original (one was deleted), on the left both copies. You can see the difference between original and copy if you edit them: in the original post the picture file is shown at the bottom to delete it, in the copy post this line is missing.

Here the user's view (opened in another browser), no pictures in the copied posts, no matter if the original was deleted or not:

The pictures have to manually (re)placed again in copied posts.

I am not experiencing the pb described by @smashm : when copying some post's content, It is fully available in the post "destination". Only when the post "source" is deleted then, images are gone from post destination.

I would expect a behaviour I am used to when I copy&paste something. A few days ago I lost important pictures and also .pdf-files because of this unexpected copy&paste behaviour described above. I would really appreciate if this could be improved so that all content (including pictures etc.) is copied and available when pasted. Thanks!

Within a wiki-page also the .pdf-documents are not copied.
