Inconsistent way how images are displayed

Problem description

When images are saved to a folder in the files system as *.jpg or *.png and you click them, they open in gallery mode (like with the gallery module) and you can navigate to the next one with the arrows on the right/left or by keyboard buttons.

When the files are saved as *.PNG, *.jpeg, *.JPG or *.JPEG they open in a new window as single images and not in gallery mode.

This is a bit inconsistent and confusing. Especially when images of both types (e.g. *.PNG (for example with snipping tool and some smartphones) and *.png) are stored in the same folder and you can't watch all in the same way.

Possible solution

Implement gallery mode for the 6 images formats *.png, *.jpg and *.jpeg (capital and small letters)
