Improve UI in accept button
Hello. I often only use the "Participate" button to coordinate appointments. I hide all other buttons. This looks like this:
I have often experienced the irritation of users that the tick and the changed background are not sufficient as a visual confirmation while the label "Teilnehmen" (Participate) remains unchanged. Participants often click on the button again and withdraw their acceptance, which removes them from the invitation list. In this case, I would like the behaviour to change to "accepted", for example, when a participant accepts.
A corresponding function to configure this would be desirable.
How about a tooltip on hover over the button?
Interesting idea. But would the tooltip be obvious enough? My concern is that users will press the button a second time too quickly and the tooltip won't even be visible.
Could the check also be a radio button? The border must then also be visible in unselected state. Only when the button is selected, the check appears in the border.
Is my idea understandable, or is it helpful if I make it clearer?
Yes, Would be good if you describe it a little more clearly.
My suggestion is that the button before the selection looks like the following example. This could also be used for the other buttons, as far as they are used and displayed.
@nrgeen Hmm, I need to discuss this with the team, we need to use a consistent button style here that is also used by other modules/core. However, as a quick temporary workaround, we can integrate the tooltip.
@Eladnarlea fyi
I'm glad you're discussing it in your team.
However, I would like to make the following point: The argument that the button corresponds to a consistent button style is convincing, but in this specific case it is not plausible. The reason is that the button shown in the first post, which is checked, already does not correspond to the consistent button style. Therefore, in my opinion, there are two options. Either adapt the checked button or the unchecked button. Since a change to the checked button is not possible, for me the change to the unchecked button was logical.
My concern with the tooltip is that it will not be visible on the smartphone, as it may only become visible when the mouse pointer remains on it. However, this problem mainly affects people who use HumHub via smartphone. Which are in the majority.
I am excited to see what will become of this suggestion.
Hi nrgeen,
I'll check what's within our realm of possibilities to solve this issue.
@luke- @Eladnarlea Thank you very much for the effort! I am also thinking ahead.
