Hello.

I asked about the top news on June 4, 2023, and observed the process of HuggingChat's web search.

While the search and retrieval of results went smoothly, there seemed to be a misinterpretation of the obtained information due to a misunderstanding of the current date. It resulted in the inability to process the acquired information correctly, leading to errors. It seems like there might be a need for addressing the model's understanding of the "current date".

I am grateful for the availability of this impressive open-source chatbot and hope that it continues to evolve and improve.

Yeah maybe we should tweak the preprompt to include the current date, that might alleviate some of these issues ? :eyes: Seems like a common theme

Yes, I would at least explore if this works better.

Ah you're right, the date is being fed when using the web search but not in regular conversation. Reopening this
