I am sure that this was on GitHub's Heroku account, and probably turned down at some point. I don't have access anymore to the Slack or the Herokua ccount, so can't confirm.

I'd advocate for removing references to it, and making finding a new home that doesn't involve having an app to be able to join. Maybe Discord?

How do you feel about building a chat app on top of Hubot and using that instead?

Sounds good to me, but not signing up for that 😅 the hubot-for-hubot would be a good place to start with that.
