Variants: Confused Variant-key example
In section https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ietf-httpbis-variants-06#section-3
- For the following example, could you please elaborate why
Variant-Key
header can be considered completely absent?
Variants: Accept-Encoding=(gzip br), Accept-Language=(en fr)
Variant-Key: (gzip fr), (identity fr), (br fr oops)
As it says
When more than one Variant-Key value is in a response, the first one present MUST correspond to the request that caused that response to be generated
However, the first key (gzip fr)
can cause the response to generate. do I miss read anything? thanks.
- Can Variants has '*' like:
Variants: accept-encoding=*
andVariants: *
?
