[FR] Disabling auto-update through config/parameter/env/hidden-setting

I try to let Chocolatey keep my apps updated rather than letting apps do it themselves, so I'd like a way for the auto-update behavior to be disabled. The most obvious solution would be through the config, but if it's a design decision that most users should not be able to turn it off, then maybe a more advanced way like a launch parameter or an env variable could disable it, or perhaps manually editing a settings file.

Barring that at least let the user continue without updating the app when launched

+1 I don't want to update it for the moment, each time I open it I click on "Install on next launch" and each time I close it I block the launch of the updater. It's very boring.
