Incorect header layout

Open DKnoto opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

Hi, I have a CPU with 72 cores (IBM Power9) and the header layout in version 3.2.1 doesn't look good at any setting.

Htop-3 2 1-Wrong-Header-Layout

This is what happens in a Fedora 36 PPC64LE system. This is not what happens in a FreeBSD 13.1-STABLE PPC64 system for Htop version 3.0.4.

I would also like to add that version 3.2.0 on FreeBSD 13.1-RELEASE / x86_64 works fine. Shows the declared number of columns in the header.

I have a little attention. This is not "enhancement" but "bug", v3.0.4 works fine.

To minimize the size of the header for systems with many CPUs https://github.com/htop-dev/htop/commit/8fb51627b2e116d7957f57f27aff31ea726d7d86 tweaked the default configuration to select a CPU meter with appropriate columns. One can switch to another CPU meter with various columns in the settings.

So the behavior you observe is intended as is.

So am I to understand that the completely unreadable depiction of the CPU meters is the intended effect????

I don't see any rational sense in this.
