Replace normal select with react-select

Is there anyway to use the react-select as a field? Right now react-select it's used for multiselect but i don't see any option to use it anywhere else. Some features of react select would be great, like the search option when there is a big list.

Looks like the enhancement is gone in the current version, 3.6.2. Any change the react UI will be available for regular select fields too?
