Application not responding, killed, truncated XML file

Running 3.0.1-2-g56b9d6f4 on Ubuntu 19.04. Was having another go at reconciling scheduled interest transactions, saving the file at at each step in case I encountered traceback as in issue #514. Application stopped responding, window undrawn. Waited a few minutes, then killed it. Not able to reload the .moneyguru file.
