Wallet empty

Wanted to test the restore procedure with backup to gdrive. Shut off original phone. Installed blixt on other phone. Restored with seed and gdrive. Wallet empty... Is this expected behaviour?

Hi @jurgen2005. If you do the restore procedure, your previously opened channels will have to be closed. So expected behavior is that the wallet is empty for Lightning usage.

Check what the "On-chain" section of Blixt Wallet says, Left menu drawer -> On-chain. Also at the same, check what the status is regarding your channels, Left menu drawer -> Lightning Channels.

Ah ok, I see my old funds, how do I open a new channel then? This is not clear to me.

@jurgen2005 Check whether the setting "Automatically open channels" is enabled in Settings. You find it under the Lightning Network category. If you restore with a seed in Blixt Wallet, it won't be activated by default, because in the case of a recovery, that might not always be preferred.

Once it is activated the autopilot should kick in and open a channel towards the Blixt LSP Node automatically for you.

It's also possible to manually open a channel by going to Lightning Channels -> +. But the most convenient way to use Blixt Wallet is to use the autopilot.

"Automatically open channels" was enabled but doesn't do much. What should I fill in the channel URI field?
