Won't automatically open a channel on iOS

When sending funds to the address on the Blixt home screen I was expecting a channel to be opened once the on-chain funds were confirmed. However this did not occur. I had to disable and enable 'Automatically open channels' in the settings for a channel opening to happen without me manually opening one.
