App stuck on startup at "Initializing Tor"

In the last few weeks Blixt has stopped being able to start up successfully. The app gets stuck on the initial screen "Initializing Tor" and never makes forward progress.

I've tried on cell network, on wifi, and with airplane mode on. In all cases it never gets past the "Initializing Tor" screen. There is no opportunity to adjust the settings to turn off tor either.

Device is Pixel 6 Pro running Android 14.
