PPSSPP leaves instances in Task Manager indicating that it have not closed entirely
Game or games this happens in
After any game is played
What area of the game / PPSSPP
Whenever I play a game, stop the game as normal and use File -> Exit an PPSSPP instance is still left running in the Task Manager.
I repeat the proccess with any other game and another instance is left running and so on and so forth which make me have to close all the running instances.
However when you only start the emulator without a game and then File -> Exit there is no instance of PPSSPP running in Task Manager.
What should happen
I haven't been using PPSSPP since 1.18.1 and this was never a problem there. I only have so much free time these days so I only update my software once a year and stick with that version until next year.

I have tried different versions for the last hour and found out that v1.19.3-270-g063fafa9f0 from 2025-07-15 worked exactly as I wanted it.
1.19.3-270 leaves no instances running in the Task Manager and everything else worked fine too.
1.19.3-656 - no go 1.19.3-795 - no go 1.19.3-958 - no go
For the time being I will base my new software disc off 1.19.3-270 until next year.
There are more builds between 270 and 655 you might want to try to shorten the gap, so it will be easier to identify the cause.

I understand, however, when you are a father of a soon 9 months old baby and working at 2 jobs it's a bit tight with time testing out things or more less trying to play anything for more then an hour these days.
You only have so much free time and yes while the gap between 270 - 655 isn't that big, but with given circumstances it's quite huge and substantial.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help, feel free to leave this open or close it but for now I'm good with 270, it was quite a leap from 1.18.1 from last year.
Also, I missed adding this last time: Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC 24H2, 21600.2033 64GB RAM
No worries. I'm gonna look at this and get it fixed.
Just a quick question - when you "stop the game as normal", do you mean pressing ESC to get the in-game pause menu or exit the game back to the PPSSPP main screen?

Sorry that I was a big vague on that one, "Stop the game as normal" is usually Emulation/System -> Stop/Stop Emulation for me depending on which emulator you are using.
I'm always stopping the emulation before exiting any emulator, it's a strange habit I know.
Anyway, thanks for looking into it. I do enjoy being able to play Rondo of Blood correctly now which have been a long long wait which is finally over!
