forums full of spam, consider switching to github discussions instead
your forum software is outdated and filled with tons of spam, please consider switching to github discussions.
Agree about bots, even with moderators have to accept posts, the bots nowadays simply use AI generated texts that appear human enough to pass and later on start posting useless ads, but maybe not about tons of spam, it's really not as terrible as it was before post restrictions.
Forums actually died long time ago and spam wasn't really main of the reasons, people just lost interest over time when popular things started working out of the box. With time even before it died, useful posts were replaced by spam from people that were too lazy to read a post or two above theirs and demanded personal attention and hand holding, don't miss that part.
I have forums bookmarked at "view today's posts" and still visit it almost as much as this github and really the only time real humans show up, is when a game is still broken or when they want to share some of their work like texture packs, shaders, mods etc. also for same reason, PPSSPP forums are still filled with knowledge, mods and other extras not available anywhere else. A bit affraid people will forget all that stuff, althrough github discussions look nice and include the same filtering/sorting capabilities as github issues which I love.
For the time being, there's a little less spam on https://forums.ppsspp.org/ now.

Github discussions require github accounts, which for some reason general users still feel reluctant to create, it seems, compared to creating a forum account.
I've been thinking about making the forums read-only and replacing with some different kind of forum, it's just that it's fairly likely that whatever replacement we choose, it'll end up hit with a similar spam problem...
We also do have the Discord forums, but somehow they feel more ephemeral. I dunno what to do.
