Cannot play songs anymore

Open lukebarone opened this issue 1 month ago • 5 comments

Describe the bug I set Spotify to download songs automatically, and assumed ncspot does the same. Today, I came in and only some of the previously-played songs would play.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Run ncspot
  2. Click on a song (or navigate with the keyboard
  3. Nothing happens

Expected behavior The song should start playing

Currently fixed by setting apresolve.spotify.com to 0.0.0.0 in the Hosts file. Not sure why that works though, even with a non-downloaded-yet song.

I also have this issue, has been for a bit over a week for me though. Where do you find the host file?

@thesombady On Windows, open (as Administrator) %WINDIR%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts. If the file doesn't exist, that's OK - create it.

Add the following line, then save the file:

0.0.0.0 apresolve.spotify.com

@lukebarone I'm on Linux so I'll have to translate the path, but I'll see if I find something! Thanks :)

@thesombady On Linux, it's at /etc/hosts (and you'll need sudo or root to edit the file)
