While I think it would be a nice addition, I'm not actively working on this. Either librespot's Spirc needs to expose more information/controls or we switch to a combination of running Spirc and controlling this via the Spotify API. I'd prefer the former. I know @photovoltex did some work on this, but I don't know what the current state is.

If this becomes a feature, I would like for it to be optional, because as it currently is, it is possible to have multiple ncspot instances playing different music simultaneously. While it might not be a common use-case, that is one of the main reasons for me to use this and also development is easier when you can run multiple instances, so if added, please make it optional :D
