extrafont has been removed from CRAN

Open py opened this issue 3 months ago • 3 comments

I recently updated R and am reinstalling my frequently used libraries. I attempted to reinstall hrbrthemes (can't live without it!) and ran into an issue. It seems the extrafont library is no longer available via CRAN. Someone created an issue on the extrafont repo asking for additional information: https://github.com/wch/extrafont/issues/104

Are there alternatives to extrafont that can be used? In the meantime, I will install an old version of extrafont.

I see hrbrthemes itself is now archived on CRAN... Is it going to be resuscitated?

I was similarly surprised to learn from my new computer that package ‘hrbrthemes’ is not available for this version of R (4.5.1) and hope it comes back...

We are facing the same problem in another 3rd package only because extrafont is not available. https://github.com/OPATP/GTFSwizard/issues/5

Maybe using and old version can be the workaround?
