Is this utility still needed?

I have used this utility with great success, thanks a lot! However it seems that since https://github.com/nix-community/home-manager/pull/8031 I no longer need this for my home-manager managed applications to show up in spotlight.

So I am wondering if there is any need or difference between this utility and the default home-manager behavior?

I hope the need soon fades! :) I've made the utility compatible with that change, and it should automatically phase out as more people update their nix-darwin and home-manager.
