Max speed for 8, 12 or even 24 strips?
Hey! Thank you SO much for your repo, truly amazing and the README written in a great style :P
I gathered that 256 LEDs can be driven at 130FPS (which is basically the max speed of the LEDs iirc), how does it look with 8, 12 or even 24 strips, would they still be able to each run at 130FPS à 256 LEDs?
hello Thank you for your remark. Indeed they will all run at 130 fps independently of the number of strips. In my panel I ma running 48 16x16 panels((256 leds) @128 fps (yes unfortunately a bit of overhead ) hence I am driving 12288 leds in total @ 128 fps.
That is just phenomenal, thank you so so much!!!
Thank you Can I ask what you are trying to do ?
Just wanna build a big (tbd) 3D cube :)
Great let me know if you need some help with the driver
Thank you very much 😊 Will let you know once the PCBs arrive
Hello @SinanAkkoyun did you recieve the boards , do they work ?
Hey @hpwit 😊 I set the project on ice for now because of work and because the boards cost over 250€ for PCBA manufacturing...
But if I continue it, I will let you know
What on earth ???? How many strips do you need to drive ? I have unpopulated boards I can send you You will just need to add the ICs I certainly have some boards with ICs in one of my drawers :)
Oh that's super kind! But the problem are not the drivers, I designed some SMT boards with 1x1mm ws2812 SMD LEDs and very tight tolerances which require the 'standard' procedure rather than economic and it has 6 layers, it's completely my fault :P
whoua how many leds did you plan on putting ?
