horizontal scrollbar partially covers last line - even when cursor is there

I have disabled line_wrapping (set to none for mode:python), have a monitor in portrait mode and 2x2 views layout. With this setting and layout there is very little white space on the monitor and all scrollbars are usually visible.

When there is more lines than fit in the window, the bottom line is partially covered by the horizontal scrollbar, making that line more or less unsuitable for typing (depending on the font size). I mean, when I type there, the bottom (half) of the just typed characters are covered by the scrollbar.
