NWM with play for history view

It would be great to have the ability to play the last 24H or 48H to see the NW traffic across links. Or even choose a date and time to have an overview of the NW.

You can do this right now. Each time you run weathermaps, it generates an png file. Copy that png file and append a timestamp. Use a library like imagemagick to create an animated gif or create a front-end interface to scroll though the images.

There has also been a field in the database for enabling archiving for some time, and in the unreleased stuff, that is actually acted upon. The few times I've tried animation, it wasn't too useful though. Using a continuous gradient scale helps (otherwise it's just a bunch of flickering links). I was hoping to have a user interface a little like Apple Time Machine - I think that will wait until there is a generic web UI for weathermap that isn't dependent on Cacti (which is coming).
