I doubt it.. its just the standard go/proto json parsing, notorious for useless errors. If you do, it would benefit the entire ecosystem though

MeshConfig is updated dynamically. So if you apply a bad config, istiod will work fine... until it happens to restart, possibly days later, and never comes up
