Discussions outside this issue and also described in https://github.com/w3c/aria-at-app/issues/792 note that specifying the browser version will not be required for the short term, and we're going ahead with option A...
The APG TF [discussed this on May 21, 2024](https://www.w3.org/2024/05/21-aria-apg-minutes.html#t03) and confirmed this work is now ready to be merged. I will be merging this later today.
