Feature: Custom schedule for when breaks are active

I would like to be able to choose the time of the program, for example, only during working hours, with the choice of the day of the week.

Hi and thanks for the idea :)

With how the breaks work right now, that would be huge change and a lot of work...

I'm not saying no, but it's coming not anytime soon probably.

What is the reason for not running stretchly outside of work?

Hey, was going to file the same issue, but found this one.

What is the reason for not running stretchly outside of work?

One can use same machine for work and for personal usage and toggle the app on/off each day, but the proposed feature will make this routine a lot easier.

hi @wbars and thanks for feedback

My question was more like: why don't wanna use it outside of work? I mean why not keep breaks outside of work as well...

alternative solution:

  • enable Do not disturb on your Mac, Some-another-name on your Win, (not working on Linux), when not working
  • use stretchly's Pause until morning and set morning time in settings file to your work's start time
  • Pause indefinitely and resume when your works starts

Thanks for the ideas! The whole point of the feature for me is to get rid off necessity of manually operate the software (be it DnD on OS or stretchly's pause features) and make it toggle the modes automatically so I won't do it every time.

I'd also love to have this feature. For me it has very practical implications: I probably won't miss the train.

For psychological reasons I have configured Stretchly to not allow cancelling breaks. The urge to hit Esc is just too high. ;-) But if a break starts right when I am about to leave from work, I need to wait until it has finished before I can stop everything and shut down my PC. Since I then have to leave late I risk missing my train.

If there was an option to configure working hours / business time, Stretchly would not queue a break if that would overlap with the EOB.
