Water point on Humanitarian layer

Water point on Humanitarian layer need to be display as it is on the cycle layer, like https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=south%20kivu#map=16/-4.1026/29.0932&layers=C image instead of https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=south%20kivu#map=17/-4.10296/29.09443&layers=H image

I guess Lucie her main important point is that it should be made more noticable on the humanitarian layer. Showing them on zoom 16 would be great I think.

OK, got it, thanks for the clarification :)

After reading the discussion in #7 some information on how I currently map things for MSF.

We are tagging currently:

For all points where people drinking the water (which does not necessarily mean that the water is healthy to drink!) we use: amenity=drinking_water

When the source is tap water or piped water: man_made=water_tap When it is a hand pump or foot pump: man_made=water_well + pump=manual When it is an improved and protected well (un puit): man_made=water_well + pump=no When it is an open well (un puit): man_made=water_well + pump=no + covered=no

When it is like a natural source of water we map this as natural=spring or natural=water/lake/etc. When it is rain water in a storage: man_made=storage_tank + content=rain_water

I don't know if this is the right way to do so, happy for suggestions to improve!

To to give you some images:

@Jorieke thanks for this very useful info, but I'm not sure how to translate this as an actionable point for me. Apart from rendering them at zoom 16 instead of 17, do you have anything specific in mind?

Side note: puits is one of those weird French words, and take a s even in singular :)

Hey sorry, I guess my question is here: These are the different water points - and this is how we are mapping them. Is this currently all rendered on the layer or not? If not, it would be great if they could be rendered and otherwise if you suggest other I'm also happy to adapt my tagging scheme so they are rendered better on the layer.
