Ability to define granularity of the timeline

Currently it displays year by year the timeline. If you want to setup a timeline that is, for example, 3 months or 6 months it's difficult to have a proper visibility. Would be great to be able to setup this through meta-date for example.

Second this would be super useful - currently the usage is a little limited - have you seen the markwhen project? Also open source timeline builder using markdown might be useful -- https://github.com/mark-when/markwhen
