Issue with xfce indicator icons
Hi, first of all thanks for your great work! After greybird broke with the gtk 3.20 update I discovered the vertex theme (and arc-theme) and liked it a lot. Unfortunately, using the Vertex-Icon theme and others, I got a problem with some icons in the xfce panel: the volume-manager (actually xfce4 pulseaudio plugin) and the power manager indicator are too dark (see screenshot). The volume icon is bright when the cursor hovers above it. With greybird & elementary-dark both were always visible. Vertex + elementary fixes the battery icon (although too small!), but not the sound. Any ideas what I could do to fix this? Thanks!
Have you tried using another icon theme? Or Vertex-Dark?
With Vertex-Dark, the sound indicator is white indeed. The battery icon remains black. (I want to use Vertex-Light.) I tried elementary-dark(er) and many more, Faenza, Numix... The volume indicator never shows. I started to wonder if this was intended, maybe. The battery icon is bright with some of the icon themes, e.g. elementary & numix, but smaller than usual: elementary-dark (small battery icon vs. bold networking symbol)
I so happened to have some Xfce lying around so i tried some combinations and found that mostly the icon theme changes the final look. So this might really not even be a theme issue, as it also happens with all my other dark themes, especially xfce-dusk.
I'm also having problems regarding the Pulseaudio XFCE plugin. (using Arch). If i use the Vertex theme, the plugin icon is dark. If i use Vertex Dark, the plugin icon is white.
I think it should be white in both cases.
Please see the next screenshot:
Note: Changing the icon theme does not fix this issue :)
A me too here. I noticed that power-manager and pulseaudio plugin icons were missing on vertex and vertex-light themes. They do appear in vertex-dark theme though.
the solution to this is putting something like
.xfce4-panel button {
color: #f3f3f3;
}
in your Vertex/gtk-3.0/gtk.css
