System language determination trouble

Installed xmachoviewer_mac_qt6_0.04.pkg on MacBook Air 2024 with MacOS Sequoia 15.6.1. The UI is in Japanese. I'd prefer English. The preferred language list under Settings/General/Language&Region goes English, Japanese, Russian.

The app should take the top line the language list, not the second one.
