Up button doesn't work sometimes

Open trunterzx opened this issue 3 years ago • 8 comments

Sometimes when I click the up button to go back one move, it doesn't respond and the analysis on the board will also disappear for a moment. After a while it will come back.

It doesn't happen all the time.

Does anybody know what this issue is?

Hello First of all, please tell us which version of Lizzie-improved caused the bug. It says "click the up button", is this a mouse button? I don't have such a mouse so I can't verify it. As long as you operate it with the "up" of the mouse wheel and the "↑" of the keyboard, the problem you are talking about has not occurred.

Please note that it is poor English because it uses the translation function.

I'm using the latest version of Lizzie-improved and the issue still exists. It was there in the earlier versions as well.

Sorry, I'm referring to the "up" button on the keyboard. The up scroll of the mouse wheel is working fine so far.

I haven't done a lot of validation, but for now it seems that the "↑" key is always working fine in my environment. By the way, when the mouse cursor is on the candidate move, all other candidate moves are hidden, and the "↑" key and the "up" of the mouse wheel are not "return one move". It is "returning the change diagram shown by the candidate move". Is it possible that you are saying this?

Hmm, maybe you are right, it could be that my mouse cursor was on one of the candidate moves when I was pressing the up button. I didn't know the up button works differently when the cursor is on the candidate move.

I will try to take note next time if that isn't the case.

I just checked again. When the issue happens my mouse cursor was not on any of the stones on the board. In fact, the cursor was outside the board, but the issue still happened.

I'm still not sure what's the exact condition to cause the issue, but it happens after I play out some variations on the board recommended by Katago. All the analysis on the board will suddenly disappear when I click the "up" key, but it will come back after a while.

I've asked people around me, including myself, about this bug, but unfortunately I haven't reported that it could be reproduced yet.

We encourage you to raise issues with the official lizzie Issues. It's more likely to be seen by more developers, so I think it's more likely that the problem will be resolved. In fact, most improvements and fixes in Lizzie-improvements are based on official lizzie issues and pull requests.

Actually, I've never encountered this issue with the original Lizzie. It only happens when I used the Lizzie Improved

Oh really·· The latest Lizzie-improved is based on the official Lizzie 0.7.4 with various changes, so there may be a cause in these changes. However, I'm not a computer programmer, so I have no idea what caused this bug. Anyway, I'd like to watch carefully to see if I can get any hints from using Lizzie on a regular basis.
