Make “Contributors” section dynamic: read out from GitHub, sort by last contributed

Open jennwrites opened this issue 8 years ago • 7 comments

Part of #234

In preparation for the Camp Release we are trying to update the hood.ie site. This specific task involves updating the Hoodie community page to reflect our current contributors list. :dog:

  • [x] Claim this issue (@valeriecodes)
  • [ ] Go to the https://github.com/hoodiehq/hood.ie/blob/gh-pages/community/index.html

I'm not sure what else to say here but there has to be a way to pull from: https://github.com/orgs/hoodiehq/people or the main project page: https://github.com/hoodiehq and have them dynamically appear where the CONTRIBUTORS section currently is :v:

Not sure if you found it, but Github will pull in repository automatically:

You can pull in this gem to get it to work locally:

If I contribute in any way, will I be featured?

@chrisdemars not sure what you mean with "featured"? We love Hoodie’s (new) contributors and give shout outs on twitter and our blog

@gr2m Doesn't the contributors section have to do with everyone who helped work on the project?

If you've contributed a PR to any of our projects once or twice, Gregor tends to add people to the Hoodie organisation as a contributor. With this PR that would mean you'd show up somewhere on the list, yes.
