Describe the bug I configured some quick access (shortcuts) on my companion app for Car Play. My car is BMW iX1 and since the last update (BMW iDrive), a couple of day ago, my home assistant app on car play has frequently a blank (white) screen. If I don't use my car for a while everything work as expected, but if I use my car, stop it and use it again after few minutes I have a white screen and cannot use Home Assistant app on Car Play.

I already try some stuff, like turned off my entertainment device on my car, reboot iPhone, disconnect and reconnect Car Play, but still have this issue.

Before the iDrive update I had no problem.

I have a similar issue in my car. I can get it to reset if I go into the app itself, change the order of the CarPlay Quick Access Items, and then click Save. My car has definitely not updated CarPlay any time recently.

Happens for me too, however not sure if same situation: if I open Home Assistant on my phone minutes before wanting to use CarPlay, the screen is blank. I can fix this by doing a force close of the phone HA app: the HA app on CarPlay also closes and when I open it again from CarPlay it works, so the cause seems to be opening HA app on the phone shortly before opening it on CarPlay.

I gave the same issue (very similar) Carplay now shows Quick Tab & if I add entities & save they show. I see them & I see the values they have set to them. If I close Home Assistant either on CarPlay or on my Phone the App closes on Carplay & then if I open it again I have a blank Black in my case) screen. If I edit & remove or add something to Quick tab via Carplay in the HA app it immediately appears on the car play screen.

Also Areas does nothing, it never has for me. Never does its show anything when I click on an area, the button highlights like Living Room but thats it it just stays highlighted. I can choose another area & highlight that but again nothing further happens.

I did make a TEST action & that did work I was able to trigger HA to send my phone a notification from the Car Play.

Unfortunately Car Play is unusable as I cannot call it up at will......

Having exactly the same problem in Mercedes and BMW since couple of weeks… please fixxxxxx!
