Scenes on Area dashboard do not show entity_picture

Describe the issue you are experiencing

I created a new Area dashboard and noticed the the scene entities do not show tne assigned entity_picture. I set the entity_picture in customize.yaml. The image show up fine in other places like the More Info dialog, Tile card and Entities card on other dashboards.

Describe the behavior you expected

entity_picture displayed.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Set entity_picture for scene entity in customize.yaml (maybe any entity that is in the area dashboard)
  2. Check area dashboard, no image visible
  3. Click the scene button to get the More Info popup, image is shown

Those cards are just tile cards.

Can you test your entity with just a tile card instead of entities card.

If it doesn't work for tile card, you can change the description such that it just does not work for tile card, and has nothing to do with Area dashboard in general.

Actually I have them in my own current room dashboards as Tile cards with an image. I actually made a screenshot of that but apparently forgot to include it.

Ow, I think I found it.

It looks like the switch to show the picture is disabled when creating a new Tile card, so that is probably why the images are not showing. When the switch is on the image shows.

However I can't seem to change the switch without taking control of the Area dashboard which is not great because the dashboard will not get updated anymore with new features or new entities.

There hasn't been any activity on this issue recently. Due to the high number of incoming GitHub notifications, we have to clean some of the old issues, as many of them have already been resolved with the latest updates. Please make sure to update to the latest Home Assistant version and check if that solves the issue.
