Additional information

This is a high impact functionality loss - it's not a breaking change but rather a broken change. Year of the voice should not be the year of loss of significant functionality.

Logically defined Generic Thermostat mapping to voice assistants has been a significant functional appeal provided by Home Assistant.

#92363 may take care of this. Waiting on 2023.5.2b7 to retest.

This has been fixed in 2023.50b7 indeed.

No. generic_thermostats defined in configuration.yaml do not show up to be exposed to voice assistants in 2023.5.0b7. It is still a problem. . None the less, they were controllable by voice assistants before 2023.5.x
