Tuya garage door does not respect "run time"

Open boswelja opened this issue 1 year ago • 11 comments

The problem

I have a basic Tuya garage door opener. It has a contact switch to determine whether the door is open, and a button to send the open/close command. Within the Tuya app, I can configure the garage door "run time", which tells Tuya how long it takes for the door to open or close. This is how the app shows "opening" and "closing". The issue here is the homeassistant integration will read the door contact switch state and completely ignore run time, so the only states are "open" and "closed".

It looks like this is available in the standard instruction set as tr_timecon. The unit is seconds, and it allows configurations between 10 and 120. I can provide more details here if needed

This is still an issue, but I don't have the time, patience or hardware to care anymore 😬
