core AprilAire Integration

The problem

@chamberlain2007 I just replaced my Nest thermostats with the AprilAire 8840s. I have the thermostats set to integration mode and I am trying to get them working with the integration but I am having no luck. They both seem to take the IP and port 8000 but then they just get stuck on initializing forever. Am I missing something here that I need to do? I have tried restarting the thermostats several times and everything.

It appears the errors or something are causing me not to be able to access HA from external URL and making it run slow. I have to restart to access from the external URL on my phone again. Any thoughts?

Here is more logs... It looks like it keeps trying and then eventually crashed parts of HA like remote access. I have verified once I delete the thermostats/app, I no longer get the slowness and locked out of the remote access.

anyone? I really need to get these added to HA. I need automations to help shut one off when the other is calling the humidifier.

The error in the log indicates that it is failing to connect to the thermostat on the network level. It could be that the IP address is wrong or not routable due to being on a different VLAN or something. Or it could just be flakiness on the thermostat, they are very flaky devices. Recommendation is to fully remove and restart, then add just one and monitor the logs and see what's up. There's not much more I can help with.

shit... ok I will try. I have removed, rebooted, etc a bunch of times. they are on the same vlan and routable. nothing being blocked at a network level. I really need to get them to work. due to the design I need they are pretty much the only thermostats that will work right now. any other things I can try at all? no adjustments to the code or things of that nature would help?

Unfortunately networking is not something I can help with. The integration can't make a network connection to your thermostat, I can't assist with that. Sorry

thanks. do I have to remove them from the AprilAire app to make them work with automation/HA? I know it said 1 connection but I thought I saw the aprilaire app and HA were ok together.

No, the AprilAire app does not use the same protocol.

hmm... I am a network engineer lol... the network is fine. nothing blocked, on same vlan as HA etc. verified everything on network is fine. anything else that could be keeping it from connecting? I am on 3.03.3 FW and 3.03.9 is available but not automatically installing. I am fighting with aprilaire to give me the file so I can flash it using USB
