Reolink Duo 2 Fluent Snapshots taking at clear

Open Slivacki opened this issue 7 months ago • 1 comments

The problem

When trying to get a snapshot of a Dou 2 camera in fluent it is taking the snapshot as a clear image resolution and file size. I have checked the stream from the Reolink app for both my Dou camera's to make sure it isn't set the same for fluent and clear and they aren't. I am using the Reolink Hub Pro for the integration of the hub and camera's into HA. I have checked my other models of Reolink camera's and comparing fluent and clear they are taking them at different resolutions and file sizes.

This is a bug in the firmware of the Reolink Duo 2, it is ignoring the "snapType" and "width"/"height" parameters of the "Snap" command. Unfortunately that means I can not fix it from the HomeAssistant side.

You could report this bug to Reolink support and see if they can fix it in a firmware update. I will pass this allong to my contact at Reolink.

If you appreciate the reolink integration and want to support its development, please consider sponsering the upstream library or purchase Reolink products through this affiliate link.

On which firmware version is the Reolink Duo 2 running? Which hardware version do you have?

Would be helpfull if you could share the diagnostic info file from the reolink integration: https://www.home-assistant.io/docs/configuration/troubleshooting/#download-diagnostics

starkillerOG avatar May 14 '25 07:05 starkillerOG

I emailed them first and they said to come over here and see what the integration thought. I will post a update back to them about what you said. I tried to post the hole diagnostic and wont let me post it.

Thanks for the info, I have passed it allong to my contact at Reolink.

starkillerOG avatar May 14 '25 11:05 starkillerOG

My Reolink contact got back to me. It is indeed a firmware bug, but the good thing is that they have already solved the bug in a firmware update. Please contact Reolink technical support, they can provide you with a (beta) firmware update that will resolve the issue.

Same issue with Duo Floodlight PoE

Please also check the Reolink Download Center for a update. If not available, please contact Reolink support for a beta firmware update.

There hasn't been any activity on this issue recently. Due to the high number of incoming GitHub notifications, we have to clean some of the old issues, as many of them have already been resolved with the latest updates. Please make sure to update to the latest Home Assistant version and check if that solves the issue. Let us know if that works for you by adding a comment 👍 This issue has now been marked as stale and will be closed if no further activity occurs. Thank you for your contributions.

The beta firmware from reolink fixed the issue.
