Home Connect "Error starting program Dishcare.Dishwasher.Program.Auto2: HomeConnectRequestError"
The problem
When starting my dishwasher via Automation I sometimes get the Error
Home Connect "Error starting program Dishcare.Dishwasher.Program.Auto2: HomeConnectRequestError"
This happens about 50% of the time. Sometimes is does not happen and sometimes the automation stops because of this error and does not execute the remaining automation steps.
But the dishwasher starts every time.

Hey there @davidmstraub, @diegorro98, @martinhjelmare, mind taking a look at this issue as it has been labeled with an integration (home_connect) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

That's probably an API issue, but just in case, would you mind to share the debug logs to see if we can get more info from them?
Will do.
Next time I run the dishwasher I will enable debug logging. But might be 1-2 days since as written the error does not happen every time.
Do you have the logs from the errors that already happened?
Currently logs only show this one line I have already posted
Will post debug logs asap :-)
Short update. It worked flawlessly the last 2 times I started the dishwasher with debug logs enabled.
Please give me a few more days. If it does not happen again I will close the issue .... :-)
No problem!
Hello @Diegorro98
Today the Error happened again.
Enclosed please find the debug logs. It is quite big but the Error should be around 2025-03-29 11:04
I have since some weeks exactly the same issue. Used to work flawlessly, but now I have a 50% chance that the automation stops because of the HomeConnectRequestError.
I tried to replicate the issue, because I was surprised that there wasn't too much information in your logs and I was able to get more information from my logs, but I realized that there was more information in my logs thanks to #139817. This change has been only released to beta version, so we will need you to update to the beta version or wait for the 2025.4 release and update to get more information about what the issue is.
OK, since this is my productive system I do not want to install the 2025.4 Beta.
But since the 2025.4.0 release is only a few days away I will then collect debug logs again, every time I run my dishwasher and post here once the error happens again.
Maybe @Jedimaster128 is quicker than me. Took me almost a week this time to see the error again.
Thank you for your help for now :-)
Hi,
Now I received the ReadTimeout Error I mentioned here: https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/142387 on my dishwasher as well.
Error while executing automation automation.steuerung_geschirrspuler: Error starting program Dishcare.Dishwasher.Program.Auto2: ReadTimeout:
Debug logs: home-assistant_home_connect_2025-04-12T10-05-33.686Z.log
The HomeConnectRequestError did not happen again until now.
Please, post it on the other issue
Since you are no longer having the HomeConnectRequestError, I will close this issue
