Wiz Light Integration needs to be updated with the current list of effects.
The problem
I have tried getting someone's attention on this through the forum and trying to contact the developer directly and to no avail. So I am now classifying this as a bug. There are new effects that Wiz has added to the list but it is not reflected in the Home Assistant integration. As these are the only bulbs I use in my home it is very important to me that this integration be maintained. Can someone please update the list of new effects for use in HA? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Steveo-The-Sane

Hey there @sbidy, mind taking a look at this issue as it has been labeled with an integration (wiz) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

Can someone please update the list of new effects for use in HA?
So, let's have a go at this together.
Step 1: What are the new effects/do you have a link to the specific names of these or other details, to the point a person not very familiar with the wiz products could add them?
Step 2: the effects appear to be defined in an upstream library. Is there an open issue there?
https://github.com/home-assistant/core/blob/0dc1151a25a9768e2c6c24de61b3a8439a466152/homeassistant/components/wiz/light.py#L9
https://github.com/sbidy/pywizlight/issues suggests no.
Step 3: add a PR to update these. https://github.com/sbidy/pywizlight/blob/master/pywizlight/scenes.py#L42
Consider: Is there a specific version where these are understood?
Step 4: get it merged, released, and do a version bump PR here
Steve what effects are you looking for, here's what i see for Wiz bulbs:
to note: It would be nice if that list was A-Z Sorted

I just stumbled across this thread because I'm on a mission to add the 2 missing light modes myself as they've both been added to WiZ for some time now.
The 2 missing modes are "Alarm" which is a strobe on-dim-on of full white @ 100% brightness to 10% with a varying timer of ~300ms per strobe cycle (Multiple bulbs in the same room will become very out of sync within only 1 or 2 strobe cycles, it's quite an effective attention grabber)
The second missing mode is "Snowy Sky" which is very similar to Fireplace or Fall, except with Off-White/Light Blue
-EDIT-
Seems to me that "Alarm" should be there - because it's listed in pywizlight's scenes file but "Snowy Sky" is missing from there.
I'm currently updated the list of effects (@DeFlanko with sorting in place :-) ) But Snowy Sky sounds new to me. I don't have a bulb which support that one. Is this supported by all full feature bulbs (RGB CW)?
Thank you :)

Could you set the scene and tigger a echo '{"method":"getSystemConfig","env":"dev","params":{}}' | nc -u -w 1 <theIPofYourBulb> 38899 and echo '{"method":"getPilot","env":"dev","params":{}}' | nc -u -w 1 <theIPofYourBulb> 38899. I need the number of the scene.
My wiz devices don't have that scene 😒
{"method":"getSystemConfig","env":"pro","result":{"mac":"cc40852a46c0","homeId":16731257,"roomId":27006765,"rgn":"eu","moduleName":"ESP20_SHRGBC_01","fwVersion":"1.33.0","groupId":0,"ping":0,"accUdpPropRate":100}}
{"method":"getPilot","env":"pro","result":{"mac":"cc40852a46c0","rssi":-51,"state":true,"sceneId":36,"speed":100,"dimming":100}}
the lights im using btw: https://www.cooperlighting.com/global/brands/halo/9866215/rl-smart-wi-fi-recessed-led-trims-connected-by-wiz-pro#ESS
Oh and while we're at it... Alarm:
{"method":"getSystemConfig","env":"pro","result":{"mac":"cc40852a46c0","homeId":16731257,"roomId":27006765,"rgn":"eu","moduleName":"ESP20_SHRGBC_01","fwVersion":"1.33.0","groupId":0,"ping":0,"accUdpPropRate":100}}
{"method":"getPilot","env":"pro","result":{"mac":"cc40852a46c0","rssi":-51,"state":true,"sceneId":35}}
Did these also "Static" need to be added as well?
No, alarm is there and the statics too. Added now the new "Snowy sky" in 0.6.1.
I will try to get the PR for bumping the base lib. in then next days ready. So it should be available in the next release.
@DeFlanko do you have a white / tunable white only bulb to check if the scene is available too? I assume this is a "cold white" scene which is not RGB only (?)
I do not, I only have those two style of bulbs.
Ok, I tested a bit around, and it seems to me that there are a special bulbs out there which supports that scene. I tested with my bulbs here (FW 1.33.1) but all of them (also RGB + W/CW) don't support this.
I need more data to create a resilient method to determine the bulb time which supports that.
