LG ThinQ Washer says spinning even after completion
The problem
Even after the wash finish it still say spinning. I get a notification in the LG ThinQ app that the wash completed and the LG ThinQ app says that the washer is Off.
But as can seen in this screenshot the washer is still in spinning state in Home Assistant:

@WizKid Thank you for your report. Please inform your device's info and additional logs if possible (after set 'Enable debugging logging').
- Device info : Settings > Devices > washer's screenshot
Device info (I think this is what you meant): . I see on that page that there was a notification saying: "Washing is completed" at the time it finished. But that notification is 4 days old. And the last wash I ran was today.
I turned on debug logs and will attach them next time I run the washer.
@WizKid I think the device's network has disconnected and the 'Finished' event was not delivered. Please check it on the ThinQ app. If not, attach the log next time. Thanks.
Not sure what you mean. When it finished I got a notification in the LG ThinQ app that it finished. I assume it must have connection for the LG ThinQ app to know that the wash is finished.
And this is not a one time thing. Almost every time it finishes it still stay in Spinning state in Home Assistant but I get a completed notification in the LG ThinQ app.
Yes will attach logs next time it happens.
@WizKid I reproduced the same problem. If there are any meaningful analysis results, I will comment. Thanks.
I'm guessing you don't need logs but in case you do here are the logs from the last time it happened that it got stuck in spinning. homeassistant.log
To me it seems like DEVICE_PUSH with the report WASHING_IS_COMPLETE is always sent but that doesn't update the state. And when we get stuck in Spinning it is because DEVICE_STATUS update with POWER_OFF is not sent.
@WizKid The specific device does not transmit the status in real time, but has the characteristic of having to obtain the status periodically. The connection was disconnected immediately after the 'rinsing' was completed, so Thinqconnect could not obtain the 'end' status Because the new integration uses the MQTT event method, the state after 'rinsing' cannot be updated, and there is no problem with your washer. Thanks.
Hi @LG-ThinQ-Integration , I have 2x washers and this same behavior happens for both, at all times.
The one on the left has such state for 1 day, and the one on the right is now running but in some time, it will also be in "Spinning" state:
"Spinning" is always the last status seen on the current status sensor. The Notification event reported "Washing is completed" once for each, but it didn't get updated anymore.
I have been using ollo69 ha-smartthinq-sensors integration for a couple of years, and it always reports the washing cycles upon completion. This integration is based on LG SmartThinq API v1:
Would it be possible to have the completed status as part of the current status sensor, or wouldn't it be possible due to the MQTT event method implementation being used on the HA core LG ThinQ integration?
I understood that you were able to reproduce this, but if needed, I can provide debug logs from any of my washers.
I see exactly the same behaviour as above, and also am a prior user of the ha-smartthinq-sensors integration where this status was reported OK.
I’ve enabled debug logging and happy to provide any additional logs if helpful next wash cycle.

This issue is ongoing. I haven’t noticed any improvement on the latest version of Home Assistant.
The status sensor stays set to Spinning and never enters a complete state.
I have also noticed this on my LG washer. It stays "spinning" long after completion of a cycle. I'm using the LG ThinQ integration. I have also noticed, generally, that the washer doesn't like to stay connected to WiFi, and often shows "unavailable." It is only connected to the network/internet when running a cycle.
This is happening to me too recently (I know a while back it used to work! Not sure what changed TBH...)
Stays in "spinning" state and doesn't leave that status even though the washer completed (and I got a notification on the ThinQ app)
For what it’s worth, my washer does NOT do this. It reports “finished” then “off” once the spinning completes.
Running HA 2025.8.3 with an LQ WashTower Model WKG101HVA.
