Home Connect: Status/Sensors OK, but Actions do fail

Open Silksmooth79 opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

The problem

The home connect integration finely reports on the current status of the coffee machine and its sensor entities, as soon as I manually switch it on. However, the available actions to power off/on via the integration continuously fail with the error log as below.

The remote start option is active as can be seen in the home connect app as well as in the settings of the machine itself.

It seems there was a software update on the dishwasher a few weeks ago, ever since the update the problem described here has been an issue.

same here, since the update of the dishwasher, it does not connect and you can not use power switcher, start the dishwather etc.

This afternoon I upgraded from 2024.10.1 to 2024.10.2 and since that moment my Home Connect entities and sensors don’t respond anymore. Is this related to the issue in this thread, or is it a new one introduced in 2024.10.2?

when i restart the integration a couple of times, the sensors and controls are availible again. otherwise i get this error:

Logger: homeconnect.sseclient
Bron: components/home_connect/api.py:143
Eerst voorgekomen: 21:37:56 (1 gebeurtenissen)
Laatst gelogd: 21:37:56

Failed connecting.

Here it restarted working since yesterday, without any action from my side. However, I saw a message from Siemens in the Home Connect app on Sunday evening where they apologised for the inconvenience. That message was also removed yesterday.

FrankBesseling avatar Oct 22 '24 15:10 FrankBesseling

@Silksmooth79 Sorry for being late, that error is reported by the API so probably we are not able to fix it as we already follow the specification to turn on and off appliances (many other appliances, including mine and simulator's are already working...)

The only thing we can do recommend to check if the coffee machine is connected while is turned off, because maybe connection while is turned off is a feature that is missing in your coffee machine. So, would you mind to check will the coffee machine is off (so that you appliance settings at Home Connect app, specifically the line between the appliance and the clouds (which represents the connection between the Home Connect API) in the following graph: image

Same for me, all working again without any issues at the moment 👍

I'll close here since the problem seems solved for the moment.

We're doing a major overhaul of the integration currently. We're hoping the integration to perform more robust in the March release. But of course problems on the cloud API side may still happen.
