TADO Integration only works for 1 device, is broken for any other.
The problem
Originally noticed it due to Version 2024.10.0 fixes the reload issue and now this issue has been fixed, the other is still a serious problem for me.
I can only modify one device, the others simply ignore the input I give them until I manually change the HVAC mode and it all resets to the values in Tado.
I have removed all traces of the Tado integration and restarted adding the heating system to no avail, I even tried to rebuild my house in the Tado environment and redid everything. I have added the integration to a new HA installation and that has the exact same problems, so it is not just one HA having this issue.
The current integration is mostly broken for me at this point, with just the normal heating control on exactly 1 device, and only that one.

Can you please provide some more information. Either some screenshots, or logging that you can trace?
If you wish you can get access to my home assistant core (beta) installation to play around with my tado setup. I can provide you safe and secure access if you need it.
I have created a kind of 'screenshot movie', showing you what results when I do the livingroom (Huiskamer) and what it looks like when I raise the temperature, then you can see the bedroom (Slaapkamer) and what happens when I try to raise the temperature there.
Actual movie now (it is an MKV movie, VLC will play it):

Once I manually set Mode to Heat it will bounce back to Auto and then return the temperature to the previously set value. I can change it to 'Off' which actually activates the setting in Tado. When I change anything in Tado, the changes are reflected in the home assistant interface ~almost instantly~ VERY slow currently, so it seems to somehow lost the capability to control the heating in all other rooms aside from the livingroom. The kitchen (Keuken) acts the same way as the bedroom, there is no difference there.
I enabled the debugging log and restarted the integration, next I tried to set the temperature in the bedroom to make it log the action and made it 'bounce' back to automatic, then disabled the debug logging to download the log.
home-assistant_tado_2024-10-03T20-25-29.145Z.log
I limited it to the log at and after the time of activating the debugging log.
is there anything else I can try and obtain for you to fix this issue? Or something I can do to fix it on my side?
For me at least the integration is mostly useless, I only have heaters to control with it. I really wonder why not many more people complain about this already.
Hello everyone,
I believe this issue is related to my problem.
Yesterday, I got Tado X and set up the integration. However, the integration only recognizes my Tado Bridge, but none of the other thermostats.

same here. i just installed 10 tado x thermostat, all works in the tado mobile app, but the tado integration only show the bridge and none of the 10 thermostats. seems the tado apis changed and is not workin anymore since tado x. definitively the integration need to be modiifed for being able to work with tado x. if you need me tests or beta stuff, im happy to help with feedback. i use 2024.10.2 and the last tado integration. Iphone tracker is not workin either, i can only see the bridge and associated 6 indicators.
Same here, none of my tado x thermostats - the integration is not usable at the moment :/ If you need someone for tests, feel free to contact me. Thank you!
May be I have the same problem here but without any system change. I haven't change anything in my system since the beginning of this year. I only have tado° V3+ thermostates and since yesterday (I cannot say since when it is not working anymore) I don't see any climate entities of my 6 thermostates. All other entities connected to the thermostate seems to work quite well. As you can see in the picture down below.
Is this a known issue? Can someone help me?
Thank you!
Mine are V3+ as well. What you see is what I had after Tado did some platform update last summer. Just renaming the devices in the tado app/page and re-adding the integration then fixed it for what I was able to see, and because it was the middle of summer never fully tested. I do not know what month it was exactly, I just know 'summer'. Since the heaters became more required again as fall set in (I have a very leaky house, it's a rental) I started noticing the problem of not being able to set them in HA. Have been messing with them ever since :|
Hello everybody, I have the same problem, only one of the smart radiator thermostat can be controlled from Home Assistant. The other ones do not respond to commands. I think my Tado configuration has been the same for at least 1 year.

I also have the same problem with the new tado x
For Tado X user just go with matter. I think its the best for long term
Thanks for your answer that’s what I did but unfortunately only 2 indicators are available on matter while the radio api display much more …. So I wait matter can display all APIs Best pascalSent from my iPhoneOn 18 Oct 2024, at 19:22, Marcel @.***> wrote: Screenshot.2024-10-18.192138.png (view on web) For Tado X user just go with matter. Same here, just purchased the Tado Wireless Smart Thermostat X Starterpack and added it to my HA instance, finding out the hardway that I only can see some stats from the bridge, but no sensors to be seen from the thermostat. (Also no way to control the thermostat either at this point.
exactly the same as @nielshh my 14 other tado x devices are just not show
Did you try to link them from within the Tado app? Settings > Rooms & devices > select a device > scroll down > at the bottom you see the Matter symbol if you can link the device. If you try to link it you can select HA. This way I could link most of my thermostats and in HA add them to a dashboard as Thermostat cards. One of the rooms has a smart radiator thermostat and a so-called smart temperature sensor. It's not possible to add a card for this room! Probably because of the temperature sensor?

I have the same problem now. Strangly for me it started after updating to 2024.11.0. Before that it worked just fine.
On of the AC devices works fine. The other correctly loaded with the current state on reload, but changing it through home assistant does have no effect. The other way around, changing it through the tado app, does not updat the state in homeassitant.
So I decided to enable debug logging and try to update both Tado AC controllers through home assistant.
The one that is not working logs this, after changing it to 21 degrees:
2024-11-08 12:30:50.749 DEBUG (SyncWorker_8) [homeassistant.components.tado.climate] Switching to HEAT for zone Keuken (5) with temperature 21.0 °C and duration None using overlay NEXT_TIME_BLOCK

However, after this, it updated correctly to the current state (19 degrees in tado, before it was 22 degrees in ha)
When I do the same for the Tado AC control that is working, I get this
2024-11-08 12:33:54.123 DEBUG (SyncWorker_5) [homeassistant.components.tado.climate] Switching to HEAT for zone Woonkamer (4) with temperature 21.0 °C and duration None using overlay NEXT_TIME_BLOCK

I dont see any difference or reason why it should not work. Is there anything I could do to give more information?
Same Problem for me. I just have the Bridge in my HA and no Tado X Thermostats.
Same here: I'm on 2024.11.2, and while all 4 thermostats show up, only 2 of them respond to commands from HA. (All of them work just fine from the Tado app.)
Hey there! For me the problem resolved when I removed the TADO integration, and re-added it in home assistant. I also had some old devices/rooms in there, which were removed after I re-added the integration. The rest kept working as before
retried a clean setup, still did not work. HA Core 2024.12.0 used.

I tried removing and re-adding but no improvement. But as a new user it never worked for me…

Just tested it, as my Tado V3+ haven't worked in 2 weeks. Started by upgrading to Core 2024.12.1, didn't help
- Removed the Tado integration
- Restarted HA
- It automatically found new devices
- Added the integration by logging in
Now it works :)
Verified both physical, and in the Tado-app
Info about HA: Core 2024.12.1 Supervisor 2024.11.4 Operating System 14.0 Frontend 20241127.6
The only difference between what @PeterHallengreen and me did was the reboot between attempts to fix it and I sometimes did not wait for HA to find the devices itself but just added the integration to HA by hand.
The reboot and auto-discovery seem to be key to solving the issue which leads me to believe something is not properly cleaned up when you remove the integration and that the auto-discovery makes something work a tad different... as a result the integration started to work again for me, after being broken for at least 4 months!
This, however, is what I tried before I decided to report the problem in the first place. Back then I tried every possible combination of the work to try and get it to work again, to no avail.
Just happy it works again for me, for everyone else: follow the order @PeterHallengreen specified to reinstall and make sure you allow HA to use it's auto-discovery to find your devices.
