Amber Electric Integration - freezes after Internet interruption
The problem
Whenever my Internet connection fails over to its backup (which involves a change of IP address) and/or recovers from a WAN interruption, the Amber Electric data stream freezes. I have had to restart HA or restart the integration manually to get the flow of data to resume.

Not sure how to fix this - we use the Home Assistant built in polling mechanism. I'll ask on discord.
My Amber integration keeps going offline since 2024.09. I didn’t think I had a flaky internet connection but this could be the reason mine is.
Been getting this too, almost certainly cause of our top-tier Fixed Wireless NBN. Made an automation to reload the Amber config at 5 and 5 every day.
Needs specific entity or label data, so just group all your Amber sensors into the same label and give it that.
Entry_id can be found in the address bar when you're on your Amber integration entities page. Dunno if its unique or not.

Since reporting the issue, I reload the general and feed-in price sensors every 30 minutes (ie. every price interval). Probably overkill but doesn't seem to do any harm. I seem to get NBN HFC dropouts randomly for a few minutes on some days which then triggers a failover to the backup link and sometimes a failure of the Amber integration feed. The regular reloads have cured this symptomatically if not at root cause.
i can't even add the amber integration it just hangs up after entering the API token
Are you a new customer? It might not be able to find a valid site yet.
worked it out, i have ipv6 enabled and api.amber.com.au resolves to an ipv6 address and doesn't work.
with ipv6 disabled it works
TIL.
I will tey and fix that when I’m back from leave.
